Sailing Holidays in Belize

Home to the second longest barrier reef in the world, Belize is truly an unspoilt getaway.

Belize is located on the Caribbean coast of Central America, south of Mexico and offers superb calm water sailing, diving and snorkelling, Mayan ruins and more. With nearly 450 mangrove cayes and sandy islands of varying sizes lying within the reef, sailing in Belize is a dream come true.

A fantastic sailing destination for nature lovers, Belize is home to an abundance of wildlife both above and below the water. Snorkeling and diving are top of the list of things to do in Belize with the area being full of possibilities for novices and seasoned divers alike. The reef stretches along the coast of Belize for more than 180 miles and is a thriving ecosystem where you can find hundreds of different species of fish, coral and molluscs as well as plentiful sea turtles and manatees. The more adventurous travellers may want to take an excursion to visit the wonderous Blue Hole.

There are many deserted cayes throughout the sailing area providing complete tranquility. Picture stunning palm fringed beaches, afternoons spent swimming off your yacht discovering an awe-inspiring underwater world and relaxing on the beach watching pelicans, red footed boobies, osprey and cormorants. When you are ready for some company, visit one of the populated islands and experience a delicious meal of locally caught fish or lobster.

The possibilities on your yacht charter in Belize are endless. Dive into the pristine waters, sample fantastic seafood caught fresh by local fishermen, and experience the excellent protected sailing of Belize’s famous barrier reef. This is Caribbean sailing at its best!

If you want to plan a longer holiday, why not combine your sailing with a week ashore to explore the Mayan ruins, tropical rain forests, jungle trekking, river rafting and cave exploring.
