This flotilla sailing holiday in Croatia offers a choice of 1-week itineraries, north or south, visiting the scenic coastline and offshore islands of the Dalmatia coast.

Croatia offers so much to see and explore, one visit is never enough. This Croatia flotilla sails from Seget Donji Marina, a tranquil and modern marina very close to the historic town of Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage site just 10 minutes from Split airport. The Kornati route takes you into the Kornati National Park where there are over 100 islands and islets offering idyllic anchorages with clear water for swimming, before adventuring up the river to Skradin and the Krka waterfalls. Choose your flotilla sailing route or explore both areas on a fabulous 2-week Croatia flotilla sailing holiday.

Our new flotilla fleet has an excellent range of 3, 4 and 5 cabin luxury yachts as well as catamarans which are fantastic for larger families or friends sailing together. The 'Super All Inclusive' price of this flotilla includes yacht security, service of flotilla staff, welcome package, final cleaning, bed sheets & towels, dinghy, outboard engine & outboard fuel, cooking gas, full water tanks, snorkelling equipment, prepaid Croatian mobile phone and weather forecast SMS on daily basis, free Wi-Fi Internet on board, Navigare bus transfer included on Saturdays and Croatian tourist tax. Taking the stress out of your holiday. PHEW!

If you are thinking of sailing in Croatia for the first time, this flotilla is ideal to show you all the best places. The lead yacht accompanies the flotilla and is on hand to give advice on the cruising area. Reliable winds make this flotilla sailing holiday a great choice for more experienced skippers.

    Alex

My passion for sailing started very young. Firstly, I sailed with my father in a Kestrel dingy, then in my first boat - a British Moth. Racing locally at club level through my youth. I started windsurfing at 12 on a flotilla holiday in Greece. That soon became my passion on the water.  I graduated to yachts in my late teens skippering from my early 20s. I spent several years living in Tarifa Spain, a windsurf mecca, where I honed my wave sailing skills.  I have sailed and raced boats in the UK, USA, Caribbean, Middle East, France, Greece, Turkey and Spain. My last yacht was a long keeled 1976 Albin Vega which is a very seaworthy sailing yacht but takes a certain skill to move around marinas or backwards. As a Yachtmaster I have done deliveries, skippered yachts for charter. Lateley I have been working in the Caribbean on a mixture of modern and classic yachts.

    Rebecca

Having grown up sailing in North Wales and on Lake Geneva, Becky’s love of sailing started from the age of four. She has since sailed in the Atlantic, Indian, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ionian and Thai waters and is returning to us after her summer season of 2022. With travel as one of her many loves she thrives on meeting new people and will do everything to make sure you have an unforgettable holiday.

    Dan

Dan is an enthusiastic, hand-on, all round team player who enjoys learning new skills and taking on new opportunities. He has held multiple jobs across various industries, enjoying both corporate culture and more recently life in the Canadian Rockies. He holds a BSc in Business & Management from the University of Exeter. After learning to sail and then race dinghies on the south coast of Cornwall, he has enjoyed sailing round the Hamble, to France, in Turkey and most recently round the Ionian. He cannot wait to explore Croatia with Nautilus and provide an unrivalled guest experience to their Flotillas.

Sailing Qualifications

To skipper a bareboat charter or flotilla yacht, you need to hold a practical sailing certificate equivalent to RYA Day Skipper Practical qualification or RYA International Certificate of Competence (ICC). For charters in Greece, you must now have the ICC certificate. You must also be assisted by at least one competent crew member over the age of 18.

The port authorities in Greece are now insisting on one of the following practical certificates: RYA ICC (International Certificate of Competence), RYA Coastal, RYA Yachtmaster, ASA IPC (International Proficiency Certificate) or the IYT (International Yacht Training) Passport. If you hold an RYA Day Skipper or ASA104 it will no longer be accepted and you need to obtain either an ICC or IPC from the corresponding issuing body (RYA or ASA). If your RYA Coastal/Yachtmaster or ASA105/106 certificate is more than 12 years old and does not have a photo ID, then we would also strongly advise applying for an ICC or IPC. If you are a member of the RYA or ASA, you may qualify for a discount or free certificate, otherwise, you will have to pay. The approximate cost is £50. Please use this link - RYA application for the ICC or ASA application for the IPC.

For charters in Croatia, Malta and the Canaries, at least one member of the crew or the skipper will also need a VHF licence.

RYA qualifications can be obtained by RYA sailing schools in the UK or alternatively choose from one of our overseas centres in Gibraltar, Greece or Turkey.

For Seychelles, the local authorities require an ICC for the skipper of a bareboat or flotilla yacht charter.

For Caribbean and Tropical charters, formal qualifications are not compulsory, however, you should be Day Skipper standard and be assisted by at least one competent crew. A brief sailing resume should be provided to outline your experience.

If you don't hold the relevant qualifications then why not add a skipper?

Sailing Levels

Level 1

Winds force 2-3 (4-11 Knots)combined with generally shorter distances. Good for beginner or intermediate sailors. Line-of-sight navigation but basic knowledge of charts and ability to plot your position required.

Level 2

Winds force 3-5 (7-21 Knots) with approximately 15-20nm per day. Intermediate experience required. Predominately line of sight navigation but an understanding of how to sail in open water.

Level 3

Winds force 4-6 (11-27 Knots) with mileage of approximately 20nm+ per day. Ideal for experienced skippers looking to venture out to new destinations. Day skipper standard but with experienced crew would be recommended.
