  • DAY 1 : Sami, Kefalonia to Vathi, Ithaca (18nm)

Start your charter from the quiet and charming port town of Sami on the east coast of Kefalonia. With everything you need close by, from shops to restaurants, you will soon be ready to set sail and explore the Ionian islands. After a 3 hour sail you will find yourself at the island of Ithaca, reputedly the island home of Odysseus. The east coast of Ithaca offers numerous bays and anchorages with Vathi having good shopping and numerous tavernas in the town.

  • DAY 2 : Vathi, Ithaca to Atokos (12nm)

Visit the tiny and uninhabited 'secret' island of Atokos. Atokos draws people in with its tranquil setting, incredible beaches and the opportunity to swim with the islands friendly pigs! This is also a favourite spot for snorkelling and diving as the waters around Atokos are a paradise for marine life enthusiasts.

  • DAY 3 : Atokos to Kalamos (10nm)

Enjoy a sail over to the island of Kalamos, a beautiful little mountainous island covered with pine trees. The coastline is dotted with small, mostly pebble beaches and this is the perfect spot to go for a hike. Kalamos is a quaint little village with a rich history and culture and many ancient churches and monasteries. The local tavernas serve some of the best traditional Greek cuisine in the area.

  • DAY 4 : Kalamos to Vathi, Meganisi (15nm)

Little Vathi is a tiny port on the northeast coast of Meganisi. In a sheltered position at the end of an inlet, it has a few waterfront tavernas. Settle down to a cold beer and plate of mezes by the quayside and watch the ferry and fishing boats come and go.

  • DAY 5 : Vathi, Meganisi to Sivota, Lefkas (10nm)

Enjoy a sail across to Sivota on the east coast of Lefkas. This unspoilt fishing village is surrounded by hillsides covered in olive and cypress trees. The shops, cafes and tavernas on the waterfront cater for visiting yachts.

  • DAY 6 : Sivota, Lefkas to Fiskardo, Kefalonia (13nm)

Fiskardo on the northern tip of Kefalonia is one of the prettiest waterfronts in the Ionian and offers a safe and picturesque harbour. Enjoy cocktails and ice creams on the harbourside and watch the yachts mooring up.

  • DAY 7 : Fiskardo, Kefalonia to Sami, Kefalonia (13nm)

Stop for a last lunchtime swim in one of the many bays dotted along the coast as you make your way back to Sami to end a fantastic week sailing in the Ionian!
