Split Yacht Charter: Discover Croatia's Adriatic Coast

Why Choose a Croatian Yacht Charter?

Croatia is one of the top yacht charter destinations in the Mediterranean thanks so its sprawling coastline, countless offshore islands, stunning national parks and beautifully clear waters, teeming with marine life. The Dalmatian coast of Croatia is a perfect destination for sailing holidays and gives you an abundance of options when you come to plan your sailing itinerary, whether you are looking for seclusion and raw, natural islands or bustling, historic towns with a lively nightlife.

Chartering a yacht in Croatia continues to increase in popularity as more and more sailors come to realise just how much this beautiful country has to offer - one yacht charter in Croatia is never enough! Starting your yacht charter in Split is incredibly convenient with daily flights into Split airport and just a short transfer to various different marinas including Split, Trogir and Primosten. Add a short stay on land either before or after your charter to visit the top attractions in Split or explore the UNESCO World Heritage site, the historic city of Trogir.

Popular Sailing Routes from Split

Explore the stunning Dalmatian islands south of Split such as Hvar, Brac, Korcula and Viz where you have such a choice of islands, anchorages, marinas and harbours to visit that you will easily fill your sailing itinerary. These are some of the most well-known and most-loved Croatian islands and are very popular summer holiday destinations.

Sail north from Split to head towards the sailor's paradise of the Kornati National Park. This unspoilt nature reserve has over 100 islands, crystal clear waters and extensive marine life and is an idyllic location for your yacht charter in Croatia.

Fantastic sailing conditions are the order of the day here and the reliable winds mean you can keep the sailing distances as short or as long as you like on your Split yacht charter. On all the islands and along the coast you will find a wonderful variety of harbours and anchorages, not to mention an abundance of beautiful small bays which are perfect to drop anchor and have a lunchtime swim. The marinas in Croatia offer some of the best facilities in the Mediterranean.

 DAY 2 : Bobovisca (21nm)

A small village harbour on Brac Island which is good for provisions.

 DAY 3 : Starigrad (22nm)

Starigrad on Hvar Island is a lively resort, not quite as busy as Hvar Town. In addition to the harbours at Hvar town, Stari Grad, Vrboska and Jelsa, there are many other small harbours and anchorages. Palmazina is a popular anchorage with a lively restaurant and a water taxi across the strait to Hvar Town for sightseeing.

 DAY 4 : Vela Luka (30nm)

Viz has remained unspoilt by tourism. Overnight at Komiza and visit the Blue Caves in the morning.

 DAY 6 : Maslinica, Solta (25nm)

Solta offers a choice of unspoilt town quays, small marinas and little fishing harbours. Maslinica has restaurants and provisions in the village.

 DAY 7 : Trogir (14nm)

 DAY 1 : Trogir

A UNESCO World Heritage site with a historic walled town.

A dramatic cruise up the Krka River to overnight at the small marina in the charming little village of Skradin.

 DAY 4 : Vodice (20nm)

 DAY 5 : Primosten (12nm)

Heading south again, Primosten is a popular stop, a medieval town with lively waterfront restaurants.

 DAY 6 : Solta (20nm)

A small fishing village on the west coast of Mljet Island. There are many lovely walks that you take from Pomena to explore the island as well as one that will lead you to the Mljet National Park.

DAY 6 : Pomena, Mljet to Kobas, Peljesac Peninsula (21nm)

An unassuming and charming little bay with a few local restaurants. Moor up to one of the restaurant's wooden docks and spend the evening enjoying the freshest seafood, wood fired baked bread and delicious local olive oil.

The cost of your yacht charter depends on several factors:

Boat Type

The type and size of the yacht you book will dictate the price. A 1 week charter on a 2 - 3 cabin monohull starts around £1200 in low season whereas 1 week on a luxury catamaran with a skipper in high season could be upwards of £10,000. These are the 2 extremes of the scale for a 1 week yacht charter in Croatia and we offer plenty of choices in between.

Charter duration

1 week is a popular choice amongst our sailors and makes the perfect getaway however, a longer charter will give you more time to explore all Croatia has to offer. We have a range of 1 and 2 week flotillas, as well as custom bareboat bookings which can be tailored to your timescale.

Time of Year

Lower-priced yacht charters are available in the off-season of April, May, September and October with prices starting to rise in June before peaking in July and August.

Crew

Don't have any sailing experience? No problem! We offer several skippered and crewed options so you can enjoy the yachting lifestyle without the stress. From a simple skippered yacht to fully crewed options, we can arrange a charter to suit your needs.

Flotilla vs Bareboat

Flotilla yacht charters are more expensive than a bareboat charter, but for the extra cost, you are getting the assistance of a lead boat with an experienced crew who are ready to help if you need assistance on your voyage. The flotilla lead crew also arrange social activities and lead you on a carefully curated itinerary. Flotillas are great if you enjoy the social aspects of sailing and are perfect for families, especially during school holidays. Children enjoy making new friends, while adults can unwind and connect with like-minded sailors. If you are experienced and prefer to discover the islands at your own pace then a bareboat charter is the perfect choice for a relaxing holiday in The Med.
