Sailing Holidays in Sweden

Sweden offers relaxed sailing on the east or west coast, both with islands of outstanding natural beauty.

"Just to say that if there is only one place in the world that you should charter make it the Stockholm Archipelago! The beauty and interest factor is stunning. Overall it's easy sailing, in most places like sailing on very large lakes. The closer you get to the open water of the Baltic, the quieter it became and nowhere did it ever seem crowded. Guest harbours all superb and natural harbours stunning. Every night the water became glass like and we had the quietest nights on board ever. A memorable and thoroughly enjoyable charter." P.M.

Charter a yacht and explore the hundreds of offshore islands off the east coast of Sweden from Stockholm. These archipelagos form a necklace of islands with sheltered natural harbours and traditional fishing villages.

From the marina at Saltsjo-Duvnas you can sail into the Stockholm Archipelago, which stretches about 60km to the east. It consists of around 24,000 islands and islets, perfect to explore on a sailing holiday. Visit the larger islands of Möja, Runmarö and Nämdö and on the eastern edge of the archipelago is Sandhamn, the area’s most popular spot, with a picturesque marina, good restaurants and an excellent beach.

A sailing holiday allows you to visit quaint fishing villages, with cafes and restaurants serving fresh seafood. Explore islands with small fishing communities and islands which are completely deserted – one thing is certain, a yacht charter holiday in Sweden will be entirely unique.

Sweden is a fascinating country with many excellent attractions. Some things for you to do on a yacht charter in Sweden are:

Visit Fjaderholmarna for local seafood sandwiches.

Take in the impressive Vasa museum and the perfectly preserved 17th century ship.

Swim and snorkel at Nattaro marine nature reserve.

Sailing Itineraries for Sweden

The cost of your yacht charter depends on several factors:

Boat Type

The type and size of the yacht you book will dictate the price. A 1 week charter on a 2 - 3 cabin monohull starts around £1300 in low season whereas 1 week on a 5 cabin monohull with a skipper in high season could be upwards of £8000. These are the 2 extremes of the scale for a 1 week charter and we offer plenty of choices in between.

Charter duration

1 week is a popular choice amongst our sailors and makes the perfect getaway however, a longer charter will give you more time to explore all the islands of the Stockholm Archipelago.

Time of Year

Lower-priced yacht charters are available in the off-season of April, May, September and October with prices starting to rise in June before peaking in July and August.

Crew

Don't have any sailing experience? No problem! We offer skippered yacht charters in Sweden so you can choose the yacht that best suits your group and add a professional skipper to your charter so that you can enjoy the yachting lifestyle without the stress.
